It certainly seems a three way transfer tussle is on full flow for Colombia’s World Cup star Juan Cuadrado. After we reported yesterday citing Spanish daily that Bayern Munich were willing to offer €42m for Juan Cuadrado, Spanish site ABC Deportes has now claimed that the Catalan giants have put in a €35m for the 26 year old.

However any such truth regarding Bayern’s willingness to spend €42m for the Fiorentina star has been smashed apart by German daily Bild who have stated that the asking price for the player will put off the Bavarians who have enough cover in the right wing.

This leaves the gate open for Manchester United to go head on with the Camp Nou outfit to sign Cuadrado. However it will be difficult for the Red Devils to acquire the services of the Colombian as Sport have claimed today that Barcelona will fight tooth and nail to sign the player.

The newspaper has cited that the Catalans will pursue their interest whether or not right back Dani Alves leaves the club this summer. The sports management believes Cuadrado is a key reinforcement for the future as Alves’ contract ends next summer.

The report also claims that United have also put in a €35m bid in an offer which has potential ad ons. However at this current moment Fiorentina are willing to lower their €42m asking price.

Why Fiorentina will hold on to their asking price: It must be remembered that Udinese and Fiorentina had earlier shared the rights of the player. Fiorentina had paid €7m for half of the rights of the player. Moreover to acquire the 100% rights the Viola paid €11m to Udinese earlier in the summer. Thus in reality if Fiorentina sell Cuadrado for €40m, they would only have a net profit of €22m which the Italian side believe is “no-no deal”. Understandably how can you to part ways with your best player for just €22 m in this inflated transfer market?
