Alexis Sanchez has had a terrific World Cup. The Chilean impressed everyone with his mastery of skills, goals and assists and overall created a huge impression among the global viewers, who doesn’t get to see enough of club football matches.
And at the same time, he is ‘the player’ in demand. Barcelona are looking to reshape their squad in the summer and want to cash in on few players, including Sanchez. Luis Suarez of Liverpool is their prime target and the Catalan club are looking to include Sanchez as a part of the deal to lure the Uruguayan.
Along with Liverpool, other Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United have shown interest in him, while Serie A giants Juventus are also thought to be a long term admirers of his talents.
According to reports from Spanish newspaper Marca, Arsenal are ready to pay €35m to land the Chilean this summer. However, Barcelona could ask €40m (price hiked up because of his impressive performance in the World Cup) from Liverpool, should the merseyside giants increase their asking fee for Suarez.
Sanchez wants to stay at Barcelona and will look to move elsewhere if he finds unwanted by new manager Luis Enrique.
Liverpool are in pole position at the moment to sign Sanchez, because they can easily include him in a cash plus player exchange deal for Suarez. It remains to be seen, how things shape up from here on.
