Honestly, I really don’t care.
We’ve suspected that for almost a month, after finding out that Bayern wanted Ruud from Manchester United.
We’ve known that effectively for the last three days, after Hargreaves told SportBild that he was happy with Manchester United’s fantastic offer.
Bayern’s subsequent statement that they don’t want to sell and Hargreaves’ agent saying that Owen would love to sign for Manchester United put the stake pretty deep in the ground.
We don’t need to know from Ferguson and Manchester United if the club is interested in Hargreaves – after all, why else would Ferguson invite Hargreaves to visit Old Trafford (according to The Sun)?
What I do care about is:
- Are we going to get him out of Bayern Munich and kitted up to play for Manchester United against Fulham on Sunday?
- How much money will we have left after buying Hargreaves – will Manchester United be able to afford a striker to fill in the no. 10 spot?
- Will the arrival of Hargreaves signal the end of time for some of United’s bench that has failed to fire?
