Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal has agreed on a new deal the club and an official announcement is expected soon.
According to reports in Spain (via Metro), the Spaniard has agreed to extend his current contract at Arsenal until 2019. Monreal currently earns £50,000 a week and that figure is likely to increase with his extension.
Monreal has been ever-present for the Gunners this season and is arguably the best left back in the league since August 2015.
Arsene Wenger had confirmed earlier that the club are in talks with Monreal over a new deal. It appears that they have now reached an agreement.
The former Malaga left-back was linked with a return to Spain earlier in the summer and the likes of Athletic Bilbao were interested in him.
Looking back at it now, Arsenal fans will be glad that the club chose to retain his services, considering how important he has been to the side so far.
Arsenal have one of the best defences in the country and Monreal has been a key part of that.
