Like every year, 2015 also saw some outstanding goals being scored at the Women’s World Cup, Champions League, Euro 2016 qualifiers, domestic leagues, and more.

My personal top three goals are:

Lionel Messi against Athletic Bilbao – Personally, I’m not a big fan of long range goals. The reason being, I feel majority of these goals are due to poor positioning of the goalkeeper. It gives a different feeling when a player dodges past two-three players with ease and finds the net either with a chip, curler or simply placing the ball outside the reach of the goal keeper. Messi did exactly the same with that goal against Bilbao – hugging the touchline, he first dribbled past few players before rushing into the box, made a room for himself by cutting inside and then placed a fierce shot into the net – sensational golazo!

Philippe Coutinho vs Stoke City – The goal was quite similar to the one scored by Shaqiri against England, but I feel Coutinho’s effort was better. The timing of the goal – scored in the dying minutes of the match to seal three points for Liverpool – plus the execution to go with it, made it look classy.

James Rodriguez vs Almeria – Rodriguez has scored some wonderful goals in his career, and this one is surely one of them. Such a wonderful technique to hit the volley first time, with feet above the ground – absolutely top class.
