Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has provided an important transfer update for the fans.
The Gunners boss claimed that the club are working hard to get deals done and is confident about incomings before the window closes.
“I am available 24 hours a day. I have a team working round the clock towards transfers. Sometimes we have a plan and then something else comes up towards the end of the window. I am trying to get some players in”, he said.
Arsenal are in desperate need of a striker and a defensive midfielder if they are to mount a serious title challenger.
The Gunners have been linked with the likes of Karim Benzema, Edinson Cavani and Akesandr Kokorin in terms of goalscorers and the likes of Krychowiak as a midfield signing.
After the departure of Diaby and Flamini likely to follow, Arsenal are short on the central midfield department. Injuries to Rosicky and Wilshere mean that Wenger will need to sign a central midfielder before the window closes.
Sevilla midfielder, Grzegorz Krychowiak has been tipped to join Arsenal, but the Polish star claimed yesterday that he will continue at Sevilla for this season.
Karim Benzema also confirmed that Real Madrid will be his home this season.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal can pull something out of the bag late in the window. Judging by Wenger’s comments, the fans can be hopeful.
