Victor Valdes has taken on Twitter to respond to Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal over Reserve row.
The 32-year-old left Barcelona at the end of the 2013/14 season and was without the club during the last season as he was recovering from injuries. The Dutchman gave the goalkeeper an opportunity to train with the first team in order to regain full fitness.
United signed Valdes on a 18 month contract in January 2015 and made only two appearances for the Red Devils’ first team. He is not a part of the squad for their pre-season tour to the United States.
Van Gaal slammed the Spain international for not able to respect his decision, when asked to play for United’s Reserves. United boss expects the stopper to leave the club this summer.
“He is not selected because he does not follow my philosophy. Then there is not one place for one player [who does that]. The philosophy is how you play football and how you maintain your match rhythm,” Van Gaal said.
“For example, he refused last year to play in the second team. That is one aspect of our philosophy but there are a lot of others for how you have to play [if you are to be] a goalkeeper for Manchester United.”
“When you are not willing to follow the principles of the philosophy, there is only one way and that is out.”
However, Valdes has already featured for United’s Under-21 side against Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. He went on to respond to his manager with a tweet on Thursday, which is mentioned below.

With Van Gaal’s latest comments on Valdes and his reply to that on Twitter, it looks like the former Barcelona star is set to leave United in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, United also have the services of David De Gea.
He also has one year left on his contract and has strongly been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
