Manchester United winger Nani has spoken highly of his Sporting team mate William Carvalho and says the Portugal midfielder is ready to move to the Premier League.
Louis van Gaal will be looking to a sign top midfield enforcer in the summer, and Carvalho is one of his preferred targets.
Roma’s Kevin Strootman remains United’s first choice but given his recent injury concerns, Van Gaal might might look for other options.
Carvalho was scouted heavily by United under David Moyes, but the interest in him died down once Van Gaal was appointed.
Arsenal are also thought to be interested him with media reports suggesting the Gunners were ready to make a fresh £20m bid for the player in January.
Carvalho has expressed his desires of joining a big Premier League side, and Nani believes Manchester United could be a possible destination.
“He is a great player,” the winger said, via MEN. “He has a lot of quality.
“I think at the end of this season he will be prepared to play in the Premier League.
“I think if Manchester United are interested it’s a good chance.”
Nani, who is currently on loan to Sporting, has been in fine form this season scoring nine goals so far. The Portuguese winger says he wishes to play for Manchester United next season but is not sure what future holds for him.
