In a bolt out of the blue, the trusted and reliable Gianluca Di Marzio website have claimed that Serie A champions Juventus are very much interested in World Cup winner Lukas Podolski and are ready to make contact with Arsenal in the coming week. The report claims that Juventus directors are keen to find out if the Gunners are ready for negotiations for the 29 year old.
Podolski is no longer assured of a starting eleven spot under Arsene Wenger with Santi Cazorla now playing on the left wing after the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in the summer while Mesut ozil is set to don the number role for the Emirates outfit. The German however can still be used as a goalscoring forward as Arsenal are no where near signing a striker who can take the pressure off Olivier Giroud up font. Moreover Yaya Sanogo’s form and Theo Walcott’s return might also be a potential stumbling block for a starting eleven spot for Podolski.
Juventus are also interested to sign Javier Hernandez from Manchester United as we had reported yesterday and the Red Devils too are likely to sell the Mexican. However Juventus prefer Podolski to Hernandez, thanks to the former’s European experience having formerly made his name in his native country in the Bundesliga.
