Atletico Madrid have confirmed that French international winger Antoine Griezmann will move to the club pending a medical, ending Arsenal and Chelsea’s long-standing interest in the 23-year-old.
Griezmann starred for La Liga side Real Sociedad last season, scoring 20 times in 49 appearances, and appeared for Didier Deschamps France in the 2014 World Cup. Considered to be one of the finest French exports in recent years, the youngster was reportedly being tracked by a number of Premier League sides, but will now turn out for Diego Simeone’s Ateltico next season after the club agreed to a €30m deal.
