According to reports in the Telegraph, Spanish giants Barcelona are set to open talks with Liverpool for a possible deal for Luis Suarez with Alexis Sanchez heading to Anfield in a part exchange.
According to the story, the Merseyside club’s officials including Ian Ayre will meet the Catalan club’s director of Football management Raul Sanllehi in London where talks are set to go underway about Suarez’s transfer. The Reds are confident that they can eke out a whopping transfer fee for the Uruguayan with the price being quoted anything in between £70m-£80m.
The Anfield side believe that a bid from the Camp Nou outfit is imminent after Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta had earlier praised Suarez, the latter who apologized to Girogio Cheillini after inexplicably biting the Italian defender in the World Cup, earning him a ban from the sport for four months.
Zubizarreta said, “Suarez has shown he is humble enough to admit an error, which is very important. He has been humble enough to apologise to those he has affected, because it happened in the middle of a festival of football. In this case it’s the best thing a person can do.”
Barcelona are also willing to include Arsenal target Alexis Sanchez after the Chilean dazzled with his immaculate displays in the World Cup. This would be a huge blow for the Gunners who seem desperate and are also willing to pay €35m for the winger.
