Danny Welbeck has hits back on the claims of his manager David Moyes that he needs to do extra training at Manchester United.
Moyes revealed publicly that he spoke to Welbeck around a month ago informing him that he should follow the examples of Wayne Rooney and take note on extra finishing practices United’s Carrington training base.
The 23-year-old has struggled to find regular places under Moyes, though injury also played a part, but he bagged a brace in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa.
Welbeck said as quoted by The Guardian: “I have been doing that ever since I have been at United. Obviously I have been injured this season so maybe the manager has not seen me on the training pitch as much.”
Obviously, at Manchester United, I want to be working hard and I have been doing that ever since I was a young kid. I just want to keep on getting better and improving. Those extra hours on the training pitch, whether it be with the boys or individually, I am just looking to improve.”
Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi has turned on the club’s board and attacked one director Javier Faus as “a person who knows nothing about football”.
Messi, as we all know, is reserved and normally stays away from controversial comments. However, his latest outburst will definitely put an extra pressure on an increasingly unpopular administration.
The Argentine genius is currently undergoing rehabilitation from a hamstring injury in his native home town, where talking to RAC1 radio he said:
“Barcelona is the best club in the world and should be represented by the best board members too. Señor Faus is someone who doesn’t know anything about football and wants to manage Barcelona like a business, which it is not.”
