There is no doubting that Luis Suarez is one of the most talented footballers in the Premier League, and with three years experience at one of the top clubs in England he would seem like the perfect marquee signing that Arsenal fans have been hoping for, However along with all of the positive points you also have to consider the not so good things about this transfer.
The biggest problem is his actions towards other players that have earned him a total of 18 matches in the stands for Liverpool. Suarez has still not completed his second 10-match ban so even if he did join Arsenal he wouldn’t be able to play for another 6 Premier League matches.
It is rumoured that Suarez is going to take legal action against Liverpool to try to force through a move away from the club. This may seem like a positive thing at the moment for Arsenal, but after a few years at Arsenal Suarez may become unsettled and try to do the same thing to force a transfer away from The Emirates. Arsenal is already accused of being a “selling club” and would not want to lose another one of their top players if he joined.
There is no doubting the fact that Arsenal are in need of a new striker but after the £150,000 wages and the huge transfer fee Arsenal will not have much money left in the 70 million transfer budget. This would be okay if we had a reliable goalkeeper and a strong defensive midfielder to cover the back four but we don’t and these are two other positions that Arsenal need to fill before the season. There are other cheaper alternatives to Suarez such as, Michu or Benteke who are both proven goal scorers that would not be as expensive as Suarez meaning we could improve the rest of the squad and have a better chance of winning that trophy we so desperately need.
