The saga of Barca striker Tonny Sanabria is one that has refused to relent this week; with the latest report from ‘Sport.es’ claiming that the 17-year-old is ‘excited’ to join Arsenal.
The Spanish newspaper has also reported that Arsene Wenger has asked the club to up their offer for the attacker, in light of Serie A side Roma’s reported €2m bid.
The Paraguyan forward is fast becoming the talk of December, with a whole host of clubs now showing an interest in the unsettled player. PSG, Chelsea and Parma are all reported to have started to hover nearby; but Arsenal remain front-runners along with Roma.
The Gunners will be buoyed by Sanabria’s reported enthusiasm, and are hoping that an increase in offer will help persuade Barcelona to relinquish the player, who seems increasingly unlikely to sign a new contract with the Catalan giants.
Here at Soccerlens, we have covered this story from its inception, and have tried to keep you abreast of the latest updates; and it now seems as though the ball is very much in Arsenal’s court.
