Arsenal are prepared to dip in the transfer market for a new signing and Sevilla’s Grzegroz Krychowiak is a target.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Arsenal scouts were in attendance to watch the European super cup game between Sevilla and Barcelona yesterday.

As per the reports, Wenger has identified the need for a defensive midfielder after a shambolic start to their season against West Ham United.

Sevilla star, Grzegorz Krychowiak enjoyed a tremendous season with Sevilla last year and has been linked with several moves away from Spain. It is believed that Wenger is a keen admirer of the Polish midfielder and is keen to sign him this summer.

Arsenal Transfer: Krychowiak the missing piece?

Krychowiak was undoubtedly one of the best midfielders in Europe last season and his break up play was integral to Sevilla’s European success.

Primarily operating as a defensive midfielder, Krychowiak specialises in breaking up the play, interceptions and protecting the back four.

Krychowiak is represented by the Stellar group Agency, which also represents other Premier League stars and would be keen to see their client in England.

Sevilla Transfer: Emery keen to hold on

The Poland international has a 22 million pound buyout clause and Sevilla will be powerless if Arsenal agree to pay the release.

Manager Unai Emery is determined to not lose any of his starters after the loss of Carlos Bacca, but Spaniard is helpless in this case.

Poor start to the season has forced Wenger to dip in the market

Wenger is keen to add to his side before the window closes and Krychowiak might just be the next one in.

The Gunners were tipped to challenge for the title before the season started, but after their disappointing defeat to West Ham it seems the manager is under pressure to splash the cash.
