Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger could be lining up a surprise move for the former Arsenal midfielder, Oguzhan Ozyakup.

Ozyakup left Arsenal in 2012 and has improved massively at Besiktas. The dynamic midfielder has been a target for several European clubs after his splendid displays in the Turkish league.

Wenger is thought to be keen on the player and is ready to sanction a transfer according to a Turkish football magazine.

Ozyakup made just one appearance for Arsenal, before joining Besiktas, three seasons ago.

The 23 year old is a much improved player now and could relish the chance to return to Arsenal and prove his doubters wrong.

Elsewhere, Arsenal target Karim Benzema is frustrated with life under Rafa Benitez.

The French striker was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer, but he opted to stay at Real Madrid.

However, things have not gone according to plan for the Real Madrid striker.

Benzema is infuriated with Benitez’ decision to substitute him every time for a defensive change.

“Substitutions are what the coach decides, I’m just there to help my team-mates,” the 27-year-old told AS.

“It’s true I’m fed up of being taken off. I’m calm and will continue to work so I’m not always substituted. He took me off to get a result, for defensive reasons.

“It’s true that the electronic board always shows the No.9. Ask Benitez why that is.”

Arsenal are in desperate need of a good number nine and Benzema’s quality is beyond doubt. The French striker is the top scorer in the league, for Real Madrid.

Wenger remains a keen admirer of the French striker and would be willing to break the bank for his services.

If things don’t change soon, Benzema could well consider a move to the Premier League in the summer.
