Quetta Gladiators endured a disappointing campaign in the 2020 edition of the Pakistan Super League as they failed to make it even to the play-offs.
The Purple Force don’t look very good this season either as they suffered a convincing defeat at the hands of Karachi Kings in the PSL opener.
The Gladiators’ batting failed spectacularly against Karachi and their 121 runs target was easily achieved by the defending champions.
They are now set to clash with Lahore Qalandars who made it to the final of PSL 5 and are looking impressive this year too.
The Lahore-based side started their campaign with a victory over Peshawar Zalmi last night. After bowling them out for 141 runs, the Qalandars managed to chase down the target in the 19th over of the game.
The fall of early wickets made things a little complicated for the chasing team but they ultimately prevailed over Zalmi, thanks to the batting performances of Mohammad Hafeez and Rashid Khan.
Considering the recent performances, Lahore look to be the favourites over Quetta in the next PSL match at the National Stadium in Karachi.
However, nothing can be said with certainty and even a single destructive player like Chris Gayle can take the game away from the opposite team.
