Quetta Gladiators have endured a disappointing campaign in the Pakistan Super League 2021, with the 2019 champions losing all their three matches so far.
They suffered their first defeat at the hands of Karachi Kings before Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi also outclassed them to inflict a heavy blow on their chances for the play-offs.
However, the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side will look to bounce back and open their account on the points table when they take on Islamabad United today at the National Stadium in Karachi.
Captain Sarfaraz was spectacular against the Yellow Storm in the losing cause and the 33-year-old can be expected to replicate that destructive form against United.
Meanwhile, the Sherus will enter this match on the back of a defeat to Peshawar Zalmi who easily chased down their 118 runs target on February 27.
But Islamabad’s previous two victories in the PSL mean they are currently placed in the middle of the table.
Islamabad and Quetta have played each other on 11 occasions, with the Sherus prevailing in seven matches while the Gladiators emerging victorious in four only.
