Arsenal will be looking to bounce back strongly in the league when they face Swansea City on Tuesday night at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners were dealt a severe blow in the Premier League title race, when they suffered a humiliating 6-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
As a result of that defeat, Arsenal are now seven points behind Chelsea, with a game in hand, so any more slip-ups from here on will surely leave the Gunners kissing good-bye to their title ambitions.
Team News: Arsene Wenger stated that Laurent Koscielny will be out for this tie with a calf injury. Therefore, skipper Thomas Vermaelen will surely start alongside Per Mertesacker at the heart of defence.
However, the biggest news ahead of the game is that both Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be allowed to play, with neither player receiving a ban for the red card debacle at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The FA independent regulatory commission ruled that the dismissal of Kieran Gibbs was a case of mistaken identity while Arsenal’s claim for wrongful dismissal in relation to Oxlade-Chamberlain was upheld.
Prediction: 2-1; Arsenal are undefeated in their last 13 home matches in the Premier League and have won their last 3 matches against Swansea in all competitions. So expect a home win for the Gunners.
