Arsenal will take on Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon, where the Gunners will be looking to shake off their mid-week disappointment with a positive result in the Premier League.

The Gunners suffered a fatal blow on Wednesday, when they lost 2-0 at the hands of Bayern Munich at the Emirates in the first leg of the Round of 16 tie in the Champions League. With series of tough fixtures coming up in March, Arsene Wenger will be looking for nothing less than full three points tomorrow.

Arsenal are undefeated in their last 12 home matches in the league. Sunderland have improved under Gus Poyet and are also undefeated in their last six Premier League away matches.

Arsene Wenger said in the press conference today that striker Olivier Giroud could be recalled. The Frenchman was dropped to the bench against Bayern and is expected to lead the line in place of Yaya Sanogo.

However, Germany international Mesut Ozil, could be dropped as Wenger hinted that the playmaker needs time to recover from the disappointment of missing a crucial midweek penalty in the Champions League.

Left back Kieran Gibbs left the pitch early in the first half and is expected to miss the tie with Nacho Monreal set to deputise.

Prediction: 2-0; The Gunners will be desperate to bounce back and expect them to earn full three points against the Black Cats.
