Manchester United target Lucas Biglia will be sold if Lazio receive a big offer for the midfielder, according to reports in Italy.

The Argentine international has been linked to some of Europe’s elite in recent weeks, with United facing competition from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich amongst others.

Tutto Mercato Web are reporting that the Rome club will let Biglia leave this summer if they receive a big offer for the player.

Lucas Biglia is 29 years old now so what defines a ‘big offer’ remains to be seen, but with Lazio qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League it may take a hefty offer for the club to accept.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has already confirmed he’s looking for a central midfielder this summer, a player who can play alongside or backup to Michael Carrick in fron of the back four.

The 2014 World Cup finalist certainly offers potential suitors great protection in front of the back four after an excellent season at Lazio where they finished in a surprise third position.

After two seasons in Lazio after a quiet career that saw him playing for Anderlecht for seven seasons after the Belgian club signed him from his homeland at the age of 20, Lucas Biglia is now receiving attention from big clubs around Europe.

Given his age, this summer’s transfer window may be the only opportunity the 27-time Argentine international gets to join one of Europe’s big clubs and will be grateful that his owners are offering him the opportunity to leave should the offer come along.

TMW state that Real Madrid are the favourites of the three aforementioned clubs.
