According to reports from the reliable website TMW, Spanish side Valencia are preparing a €30m bid for Benfica’s Argentine midfielder Enzo Perez. We had reported in the summer that Manchester United were interested in the World Cup star but any such concrete moves failed to materialize. Valencia were however close to sign Perez in the summer with a €25m offer but the player somehow stayed put at Benfica, despite reports from Portugal suggesting otherwise.
It now appears that Valencia want to sign the player once and for all and are taking no chances, hence they are plotting a €30m bid. It is believed that Perez’s release clause stands somewhere near €25m but the exact figure isn’t quite known.
Perez starred in the World Cup in Brazil putting in tireless displays in front of the back four and out wide as Angel Di Maria was injured in the latter stages of the tournament. There were also reports that Manchester City and Tottenham and also interested in the 28 year old but a move to Valencia looks certain in the upcoming January transfer window.
