Are Manchester United really going to sign a central midfielder? That too on the transfer deadline day? Rub your eyes. And again. Now read, the story.
Manchester United have agreed a €36 million deal for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrara as David Moyes gets busy on the final day of the transfer window.
The Red Devils had already lodged bids earlier for the 24-year-old, but the Basque-club demanded for the player’s buy-out clause to be met, and as per latest reports from reputed journalist Andy Mitten, both the clubs have agreed a fee and the player wants to leave too.
Having said that the deal is far from over, as the player will have to undergo and pass the medical, plus funds clearing in time is still left.
Midfield is one of the areas Moyes wanted to reinforce in the summer. After their defeat at the hands of arch rivals Liverpool yesterday, any top signing will come as a welcome relief. But, the sheer thought of signing a midfielder is far more tantalizing on the transfer deadline day than anything else.
We will bring you all the latest news about this deal, as it unfolds…
