A selection of Manchester City fans were delighted after Phil Foden scored a crucial goal against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League last night.
The Cityzens went into the second leg of their quarter-final tie with a 2-1 lead, but conceded early as Jude Bellingham scored in the 15th minute.
This meant that Dortmund had the away goal advantage in the tie. City eventually managed to pull level before the hour mark.
Emre Can’s handball led to a penalty conceded by Dortmund. Riyad Mahrez stepped up to unleash a powerful effort past the goalkeeper.
Despite this, the tie was fairly balanced as another goal from the Bundesliga outfit would have taken the game to extra-time.
However, Foden ended Dortmund’s prospects of doing so with a second goal for the Cityzens in the 75th minute.
The 20-year-old’s powerful low strike from outside the box went in at the near post after a deflection off the right-hand upright.
Several of the club’s faithful were delighted for him, and here are some of the reactions on Twitter.
Everyone thought Sancho made the best choice leaving City. Foden was patient and is now the better player in the better team with the better manager and more trophies. pic.twitter.com/dUBPU5XNjd

He’s only 20-years-old but I’ve watched Phil Foden balling it over two fixtures against Dortmund in the Champions League, Liverpool x2, Chelsea & Arsenal x2 🔥🙌 I’m feeling like a proud dad tonight 💙

Foden stepped up for the Cityzens in the quarter-final tie by bagging the winning goals in both legs against Dortmund.
He is only the second player after Kylian Mbappe to score in both legs of a Champions League quarter-final before the age of 21.
Foden will come face-to-face with the Frenchman when the Cityzens take on Paris Saint-Germain in the last four of the competition.
The Cityzens face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday, and they will be aiming to keep their quadruple hopes alive with a win.
