Liverpool owners have set a deadline to sort out a new deal for star footballer Mohamed Salah, according to reports.
The 29-year-old has publicly expressed his desire to spend the rest of his career at Anfield.
However, it is said that he is demanding £500k-a-week to extend his stay in Merseyside.
According to a report from Football Insider, the club’s owners Fenway Sports Group want a deal in place before 1 January.
They believe that tying him down to a long term contract will be very difficult after that point.
The forward’s current contract at Liverpool is set to expire in the summer of 2023.
He has been earning rave reviews for his performances in the Premier League this season.
The 29-year-old recently grabbed a hat-trick at Manchester United to help the Reds claim an emphatic 5-0 victory.
He has started all nine Premier League matches for Jurgen Klopp’s side this campaign, scoring ten goals and creating five assists in the process (stats from Transfermarkt).
The Egypt international also made three appearances in the Champions League, earning seven goals to his name.

Considering the immense quality that Salah brings to the team, £500k-per-week does look justified.
He has been performing exceptionally for the Reds since he first joined them from Roma in the summer of 2017.
So far, he has made 215 appearances across all competitions, with 140 goals and 52 assists to his name (stats from Transfermarkt).
