If reports from the trusted TMW website from Italy are to be believed, Liverpool are plotting a summer move for Benfica winger Eduardo Salvio. TMW have cited Portuguese media outlet A Bola claiming that the Reds have targeted the 24 year old Argentine and could make a move for the forward in the coming transfer window.
However, the Anfield side will need to resolve work permit issues in order to secure a deal. The DAILY EXPRESS have claimed thet players outside the European Union have to meet strict criteria to get work permits. As Salvio has featured in just a handful of international games for Argentina, it could jeopardize his move to the Premier League.
But the same report from the English media outlet cites that Arsenal were able to bypass the work permit rule when they signed Gabriel Paulista from Villarreal in an £11m deal in January.
Liverpool were earlier linked with Burnely’s Danny Ings but any sort of bid didn’t materialize. Moreover the Reds had earlier bought Lazar Markovic from Benfica in the past summer for £20m and the good relationship between teh two clubs could see another deal taking place.
