Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has admitted that he would like to see Cesc Fabregas returning back to the London club in summer.
The future of Fabregas has come under intense speculation in the media, with Spanish media reporting that the player doesn’t have a long term future with Barcelona. Although he has not been put for sale though but Barcelona have slapped €36m price tag on him, as they want to recoup what they spent on him back in the summer of 2011.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that Fabregas’ first preference is to return back to Arsenal, but he is not in Arsene Wenger’s plans for next season. The Guardian reports that Chelsea are leading the chase in signing him as they see him as perfect replacement of Frank Lampard.
Now, Spanish midfielder Cazorla says he is aware of Chelsea’s on going interest but wants to see Fabregas returning back to the North London club.
“I’ve read that he could go to Chelsea but I’d prefer him to come to Arsenal because he’s a great player and they really love him there,” he told Spanish press as quoted by BT.
“I don’t know what his future is, but I hope that he will be happy and enjoys the team wherever he is.”
Fabregas spent eight wonderful years at Arsenal and was given the captain’s armband in 2008. He secured his dream move back to Barcelona in 2011.
