Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero is considering retirement from football due to his heart problem, according to reports.

The 33-year-old suffered breathing issues during the Catalans 1-1 draw against Alaves at the Camp Nou last month. He was taken to hospital for heart tests last Saturday.

Now as per a shocking report from Catalunya Radio, Aguero could have to retire from football with his problem more complicated than was initially expected.

The Argentine joined Barcelona on a free transfer from Manchester City in the summer. He penned a two-year contract with the Spanish giants, taking a 50% pay-cut.

The 33-year-old remained unavailable for the first eight league matches of the campaign due to a calf injury.

He subsequently made four La Liga appearances for the Catalans before getting sidelined again due to his heart problem.

Sergio Aguero is widely regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation.

He joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 in a deal worth around £35 million.

The Argentina international stayed ten years at the Sky Blues and achieved incredible successes there.

He claimed five league titles as well as six EFL Cups and an FA Cup during his time in Manchester.

The immensely talented striker scored 184 goals for the Citizens to become the fourth all-time Premier League goalscorer.

He made an incredible 390 appearances across all competitions for City, scoring 260 goals and creating 73 assists in the process (stats from Transfermarkt).
