According to reports from The Athletic, Aston Villa are looking at Metz midfielder Pape Matar Sarr.
The 18-year-old is a highly-rated young talent, and Villa are seemingly interested in signing him.
French clubs are struggling financially due to the pandemic, and most of them are offloading some of their key players to balance the books.
RMC Sport’s Joris Crolbois claimed last month that Villa are monitoring Sarr, but other European clubs are also keeping tabs on the €30 million-rated player.

Sarr is an excellent prospect who has already established himself as a regular for the French outfit.
He scored four goals in 25 appearances last season and impressed everyone with his versatility.
The youngster can operate as a central midfielder and in an advanced role – he has a big future ahead.
Newcastle United are also linked with a move for the midfielder, but it is unlikely that they will use a chunk of their transfer budget to sign him.
Villa have signed Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City and Ashley Young on a free transfer this summer, and Dean Smith will be looking to bring in more quality players to the side.
Sarr would be a quality long term investment for Villa.
Many French clubs are looking to cut prices to aid cash flow, and it could apply to Metz, who could boost their finances if Villa make an attractive offer.
