Arsenal will face Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 at the Allianz Arena tomorrow night, with Gunners fans everywhere debating the potential outcome of the game.
The Gunners are trailing 2-0 from the first leg, and it will require a very special performance from them to qualify for the quarter finals.
However, the Gunners can take great heart from the fact that they defeated Bayern at the same venue last season, despite bowing out of the competition on the away goals rule.
But Wenger has a selection dilemma ahead of the match.
Defender Laurent Koscielny has been one of the outstanding performers of the season for the Gunners, and his partnership with Per Mertesacker has been very impressive thus far.
However, the French defender was ruled out with a hamstring problem against Everton in the last match, with Thomas Vermaelen deputising. Wenger has insisted that Koscielny “has a chance to play” on Tuesday and there lies the central talking point.
Can Wenger take this risk of not playing him in one of the crunch ties of the season? With so many important games in the league coming up, will it be a smart idea to use him for this game?
Take a look at what Arsenal fans are saying on Twitter:
No need to risk #Koscielny for Everton and Bayern. Realistically we don’t stand a big chance in CL, League is more important and FA

Vermaelen had a good game but I want Koscielny back for the Bayern game…Lolo and Per are much more solid together…#afc

I won’t play Koscielny against Bayern. Bigger fish to fry.

I wouldn’t rush Koscielny back against Bayern. I’d happily rest him and have him fresh for the North London Derby. We need him more vs Spurs

Arsene said Koscielny will be available against Bayern. I’d rest him for Tottenham away.
