Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran has rejected move to Arsenal yet again. The Gunners have tabled a better offer this time, but the Spanish defender wants to continue with Atletico. He feels settled here and connected with the fans and is not looking to leave the club at the moment.
Arsenal wanted to sign the Spanish defender in the summer of 2013 and tried to lure him with four times the salary he earns at Atletico. However, the player ignored the offer then and was later awarded with a better contract for the loyalty shown to the club.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hasn’t given up on him. The Frenchman wants to add a right back, as Bacary Sagna is set to leave the club, and approached his representatives few weeks back.
However, Juanfran has once again refused to entertain any offers from Arsenal as he feels connected with the fans here and doesn’t want to play anywhere else than the Vicente Calderon.
The 29-year-old has had a terrific campaign for the Rojiblancos and his performances didn’t get unnoticed among top European clubs. This a typical example where passion and pride of representing a football club dominates over financial matters and as it stands Arsenal should forget about coming back for him in future.
