Arsenal have been linked with a move for Albert Sambi Lokonga in recent weeks, and it appears that they now have submitted an official bid to Anderlecht.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League club have offered around €17.5 million (£15m) to the Belgian club along with €4 million in add-ons.

The two clubs are yet to reach an agreement regarding the sell-on fee percentage, with the Belgian outfit looking to settle for 15%.

The Gunners have already agreed personal terms with the 21-year-old, and a move is looking increasingly likely to happen.

SL View: Long-term replacement for Xhaka

The midfielder bagged three goals and three assists across all competitions last season, and he could be a quality long-term investment for the London club.

The Gunners need more depth in central midfield, especially if Granit Xhaka leaves this summer. The Swiss international has been linked with a move to Roma.

Lokonga can also operate in a defensive midfield position, and his versatility could prove useful for Mikel Arteta during rotation and injuries.

Arsenal have a rich history of developing young players, and the Belgian will be hoping to fulfil his potential at Emirates Stadium if the move goes through.
