Arsenal will take on Norwich City at the Emirates on Saturday looking to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League table.
World wide fans of Arsenal were given an injury scare in midweek with the news that record signing Mesut Ozil was forced off in the dying minutes of Germany’s 3-2 World Cup Qualifier victory against Sweden. However, according to reports, the 25-year-old’s injury is not too serious as feared.
Arsene Wenger said about Ozil:
“He is alright. He came back with a knock on the knee but it was just a kick. We’ll have a test tomorrow to see if he is fit enough for Saturday or not. When you have not played, there is always a little doubt but not a major one.”
Also, last season’s best player Santi Cazorla could make a return after the Spaniard returned to full training this week, but whether he’ll start or not remains to be seen.
Arsenal winger Theo Walcott will miss out as the Englishman is nursing his abdominal injury and is still two weeks away from regaining full fitness. Right back Bacary Sagna could start as well after the Frenchman has recovered from a minor hamstring injury.
Wenger on Sagna and Cazorla:
“Sagna is 80 per cent fit and he will have a test. Cazorla is available in training but he is not match-fit. It is just about competitiveness with him. There is a possibility both are in the squad for Saturday. I have not decided whether they will start or not.”
Midfielder Rosicky is fit again while Abou Diaby, Lukas Podolski, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Yaya Sanogo remains long term absentee.
Prediction: 2-0 for the Gunners.
