Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that German international Lukas Podolski is available for the selection against Chelsea on Monday.
In the pre-match conference, Wenger has confirmed that defender Laurent Koscielny and midfielder Jack Wilshere will miss out through injury and suspension respectively. The Gunners are heading into this match on the back of humiliating defeat against Manchester City at the Etihad which Wenger says “was a shock for us.”
“Koscielny is certainly out. Jack Wilshere is suspended. Podolski is available – On the offensive front, we showed we have potential. I believe we should come out of that game even stronger in our belief,” said Wenger.
The return of Podolski will be seen as a major boost as Wenger will have an extra option in the forward department, though the gaffer insisted it will take a bit of time for the German star to return strongly and score goals, because of the amount of time, he missed through hamstring injury.
