Earlier this week Belgian website Sport.be published an article where they claimed Premier League giants Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Belgium winger Zakaria Bakkali.
The 18-year-old who is often compared to his fellow compatriot Eden Hazard, has been linked with Liverpool in the past. Back in March, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported on Liverpool’s interest in him, after he grabbed the headlines for becoming the youngest ever player to score a hat-trick in the Eredivise, a feat that saw him earn his first national team call up.
The youngster has one year left on his contract and is refusing to sign a new deal at PSV. Furthermore, his attitude in training has created a ruckus in the club and the Belgian was forced to train with the reserves.
According to De Telegraaf today, Liverpool have indeed made contact with PSV for Bakkali but faces competition from other clubs mainly Porto and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Dutch media outlet Voetbal International further adds using Eindhoven Dagblad as their source that PSV have already accepted a bid from another unknown club. We think it is Porto, who wants to do a part exchange deal for Steven Defour.
