According to Italian outlet Premium Sport, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is considering signing former Liverpool and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
The Blues will likely have to search for a new keeper this summer as it looks likely that current number one Thibaut Courtois will leave to join Real Madrid.
Reina and Sarri know each other well as the two worked together during their time with Napoli in Italy.
After Reina’s contract expired with Napoli at the end of last season, he opted to join AC Milan on a free transfer.
It is likely that Milan view the 35-year-old as a replacement for the unsettled sensation Gianluigi Donarumma. However, if they decide to sell the Spanish international, they could stand to make good profit on a player whom they acquired for nothing.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have also been linked with the likes of Donarumma, Leicester City’s Kaspar Schmeichel and club legend Petr Cech as they look for a new first-choice goalkeeper for next season.
