If stats are parameters of judging how well a player has been progressing, then take a look at the stats of Chelsea’s youngster Romelu Lukaku.
The 20-year-old, who impressed everyone last season after scoring 17 goals in the league for West Bromwich Albion, was sent on loan again to Everton this season. Following the arrival of Samuel Eto’o in the summer, Chelsea felt another loan move would do a world of good to the Belgian youngster.
Under the tutelage of Roberto Martinez, he has been nothing short of brilliant so far, scoring eight goals in the league already, just behind Sergio Aguero, Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.
Belgian newspaper Sport Wereld has praised the youngster for his excellent goal per minute ratio. In that department, where a player has scored over 20 goals in the Premier League, Lukaku stands first in the table, followed by Aguero and Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez.
