NEARLY DONE: World Cup hero set for Liverpool medical

According to reports in France Football, Belgian World Cup star Divock Origi has reportedly flown to Boston on Friday, where Liverpool is currently engrossed in their pre season preparations.

origi1It is reported that the 19 year old is set to sign a five year deal with the Merseyside giants but will be loaned back to Lille for the next season. Origi will under go the medical in Boston and will report back to Lille’s training ground on Monday.

Origi caught the eye in the World Cup in Brazil scoring a solitary goal for his national side but it was his overall style of play that has possible attracted Liverpool to sign the youngster.

The transfer fee isn’t quoted yet but the Times had earlier reported the deal to be close to £9.8m.

Stats revealed from the Guardian: Origi scored a league goal every 255 mins last season though most of his performances were limited to coming off from the bench taking up the role of an impact substitute. The teenager also created 18 chances for his team-mates and enjoyed a pass accuracy of nearly 80 per cent.
