Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal recently admitted that he may need to delve into the transfer market during the January transfer window to make few necessary signings.
The Dutchman’s first priority is to sign a left-back, as he doubts first-choice defender Luke Shaw will recover from injury before the end of the season.
However, United could be looking to bolster other areas of the pitch as well, such as the forward line.
According to reports from Get French Football, Manchester United have registered an interest in Fulham’s highly rated 19-year-old forward, Moussa Dembele.
The report suggest that United haven’t approached Fulham officially, but they have spoken with the relevant individuals concerning the possible transfer.
Manchester United are looking to sign the forward in January, but it seems Dembele will stay put at Fulham till the end of the season.
Since joining Fulham, Dembele has made 27 appearances till date for the Cottagers, while has represented France U-16, U-17, U-18, U-19 and U-20 levels as well.
The reported move as a surprise, considering United have the likes of Anthony Martial and James Wilson in the senior squad, forwards who are expected to enjoy a bright future at the club.
GFN reports that German giants Bayern Munich have also expressed their interest in the former Paris Saint Germain U-19 forward.
Dembele is a highly talented youngster known for his excellent dribbling qualities. Take a look at the video below.
