Manchester United made a bold statement when they appointed David Moyes as the club manager after Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down in 2013.
It was a bold statement – for United always have had a British manager at helm, and before appointing any other top foreign manager, the club stuck to their traditional roots by appointing the next best British manager at that time: David Moyes.
His sacking was expected, after United have had a poor season, but his dismissal also raised eyebrows too.
Moyes admitted that had he knew he would be judged after less than 12 months, he would have acted differently. He thought, United would build steadily, as he was given a six year contract at the club.
