Swedish centre forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed that he senses ‘something big’ happening at his new club Manchester United.
The 34-year-old made his club debut on Saturday in a friendly game against Galatasaray in his home-country Sweden, before making an instant impact by scoring inside four minutes with an acrobatic scissor kick.
Galatarasay took a 2-1 lead before the halftime whistle, but second half goals from Wayne Rooney(2), Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata secured a 5-2 win for the Premier League giants.
And Ibrahimovic, who joined Man Utd earlier this summer on a free transfer and is tipped to top the goalscoring charts this season, believes the near future is bright for the Red Devils.
The former Paris Saint-Germain talisman told Swedish television station Kanal 5 after the match: “We have something big going on. It looks very interesting. Let’s see if (Paul) Pogba will also (come), then it will be even more interesting.
“I’m going to help the team as much as I can and do what I’m good at, creating chances and scoring goals.”
According to several reports, the Juventus midfielder is expected to complete his proposed return to Man Utd by next week in a record-breaking £100 million deal.
Meanwhile, highly-rated young Red Devils’ starlet Marcos Rashford was full of praise for veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after Man Utd’s friendly win over the Turkish side.
Rashford said: “It’s amazing. There’s a possibility that we can all learn from him while he’s here so we all need to take the chance.
“It’s a massive help. Just being with him day in day out. It’s helping me just seeing what he’s like overall. Not just on the pitch, off the pitch as well.
“So, there’s a lot to learn from him, so hopefully I can bring some of what he does into my own game.”
