Michael Chopra to QPR
This would be one hell of a deal; star striker and fan’s favourite leaving for top of the table rivals. In pure footballing terms, it makes sense. QPR lack a genuine top quality striker while Cardiff have a few.
It won’t happen.
1. Rivalry
Cardiff might be tempted to cash in but they won’t sell to QPR.
2. $
Rangers have lots of money but they aren’t actually that keen on spending it; their summer spending was full of free transfers and bargain buys. Chopra won’t come cheap and they won’t pay.
Scott Loach to Villa or Man City
Scott Loach is a permanent resident on my rumour posts. We know he’s got talent but would a Premier League side trust him as their number one? And is he happy to go somewhere as second choice?
Before I’ve answered no. Now I’m thinking he might just go to Villa.
1. Tired of the Championship
Players want to play in the big time. Loach has been a good servant of Watford. But you can imagine that, if the offers come, a change would be attractive.
2. Villa might soon have a vacancy
Coming up to 40, Brad Friedel’s form is not what it was. Loach could be seen as the successor.
