Manchester United new signing Marouane Fellaini will wear the no 31 jersey for the Old Trafford club in the coming season.
The Belgian was the first major signing of the club, after he joined right at the end, on the transfer deadline day, after handing in a transfer request to manager Roberto Martinez, hours before the window closed.
The 25-year-old joined the club on a long term contract, after both clubs had agreed a £27.5 million deal. The Belgian however had a release clause of £23.5 million, which expired after 31st July.
The Red Devils also targeted Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, but the deal collapsed in the end, despite reports emerging from Spain, that United officials have travelled to Spain with a view to conducting a last minute transfer. However, United moved quickly and wrapped the deal for Fellaini in the nick of time.
Since joining Everton in 2008, he made 163 appearances for the Toffees and scored 32 goals for the Merseyside club. Manager David Moyes said he is delighted to bring him to Old Trafford having worked with him for five years at Everton.
