Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has completed his £32.5m move to Liverpool this evening.

The Belgian passed his medical on Monday and arrived at Melwood today evening to complete the paperwork and is now a Liverpool player.

The Reds confirmed the transfer through their social media account and their official website. The Belgian will now join his teammates in training tomorrow.

The likes of Coutinho, Emre Can, Firmino were left out of the pre-season tour due to their international commitments and are training separately at Merseyside.

Benteke spoke to the Liverpool media after completing his mega-money move and stated that he wanted to win trophies with Liverpool and will work hard to make the fans happy.
“I came here to win trophies. I came here to reach some great goals with the team”.
“It’s about winning trophies. It’s about doing something in [my] career I can maybe explain to my son or my kids what I did”.
“There’s a lot of feelings. I want first to meet my new teammates and I want to work with the manager and his staff”.
I’m very happy to be part of the Liverpool family now and I will do everything to make them happy and work hard for them and my teammates”, he said.
