Neymar is one of Brazil’s next big hopes, playing his football currently at Santos, alongside Robinho, and being a Nike player, just like Robinho. Yesterday Neymar received his first call-up to the Brazil senior squad, with new manager Mano Menezes looking ahead to World Cup 2014, and the 2012 London Olympics. Brazil will play a friendly against the United States in August, for which Neymar received his first-ever call-up to the senior squad. He will be playing in the front, alongside Alexandre Pato, which Menezes hopes will be the partnership that brings the World Cup trophy back to Brazil.
Neymar has attracted the attention of the biggest clubs in world foootball, including Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter, and Manchester City. The most interested have so far been Chelsea, who are looking for a long-term alternative to Didier Drogba. Neymar scored 41 goals in 82 appearances for Santos, and is only 18 years old. He is also one of the most recent addition to the Nike players roster. Check out the video of Neymar putting on the Brazil 10/11 shirt for the first time:
As I said, Neymar is involved in a sponsorship deal with Nike, which naturally means that he wears Nike football boots. Neymar is a speed player, much like Robinho, and the pair of Nike’s he wears are the new Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II, the boot of choice for attacking players with flair and speed.
It’s very likely that he will be wearing the Cactus Green Superfly II, which is the latest colour and design in the 2010-2011 Football Boots collection from Nike. They’re the lighest Nike boot at the moment, and the boot of choice for Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Robinho.
Here’s a video with Neymar playing 1 on 1 against Robinho and Ganso:
Sick. I wish I was Brazillian! Where do you think he’ll end up? And is Neymar more hype than talent? Would you love him to join your club?
