The Euro 2012 Qualifier between Italy and Serbia was to be played in Genoa, Italy. Since the Serbian fans arrived in Genoa, they had been causing trouble for the police and it only got worse when the game started. The referee, Craig Thomson, at first took the two teams back for 35 minutes after they had walked out for their national anthem. When the players took the field again and started the game, six minutes into the game, Thomson decides to not to wait for something to happen and postpones the game.
