With today’s footballing technology improving at exponential rates, it’s not hard to make the connection between football boot and player. It seems that for the top players in the world, the boots they wear are designed for them specifically and then sold to the rest of us through advertisements that make us want to be like the stars we see on TV every weekend.
For Adidas, they chose Lionel Messi to represent the Adidas f50 Adizero since the beginning of the launch of the popular speed boot.
When the F50 adiZero was launched, it was the fastest boot in the world by a pretty big margin, now being slightly behind the Puma v1.10 in terms of weight.
However, does the choice of Messi to represent one of the two lightest football boots in the world mean that Messi is one of the fastest footballers, if not the fastest? We have a whole review of the fastest speed boots of 2010/2011 and the players that wear them.
Lionel Messi is coming to London!
To show off the speed of Lionel Messi, Adidas have partnered with Soccerlens for one of the coolest publicity stunts ever made in football in my opinion.
“Adidas is bringing Lionel Messi, the world’s fastest player to London! Once he’s there, he’ll be taking part in a massive city-wide game of ‘Catch Him if You can.’ Over the course of the day, Adidas will be sending him on a series of ‘challenges of speed’, set throughout the city, to see just how fast he really is. Soccerlens will be bringing you exclusive updates to this event, before they are released to the public. This is your chance to see if you can catch Messi in London.”
So Messi will be field hopping around London and the only way you can know where he is next is by following the Soccerlens Facebook page! Check out the Adidas Facebook Page as well for info regarding the Messi appearances in London.
Maybe you can catch Messi in action in the heart of London, just stay tuned to Soccerlens and Adidas via Facebook for the small details! You can test his speed and the speed of the Adidas Adizero in person, or witness it as it happens live.
Stay tuned for more.
