For Villa, Lambert made a good call with the back three and Ron Vlaar looks like something out of Pacific Rim.

Final Score: Aston Villa 1-1 Manchester United
Top three Player Ratings:
Christian Benteke – 7
The Belgian scored a beauty to give Aston Villa the lead, almost against the run of play. His hold up play was brilliant, especially when Villa went down to 10-men.
Radamel Falcao – 7
The Colombian equalised for the visitors in the second half with text-book header. He was excellent with his movement and taking positions in the box. Signs of good things to come, once he gets more game under his belt.
David de Gea – 7
The Spaniard has been the rock of United defence and once again he proved to be the difference by making some outstanding saves.
