Team news after the jump.

Juventus

Juventus have not won in nearly a month and there is some reason for concern. Juventus, who are still searching for their first win in the Champions League Group A, have struggled recently in the Serie A, as well.

In their most recent match against Palermo, Juventus failed to get out of the gate and crashed to a poor 2-0 defeat. The defeat followed a 1-1 draw at home against Bologna and a draw away against Genoa. And now, after an inspiring start, Juventus have quickly been reeled in by other clubs.

Gianluigi Buffon has publicly acknowledged his knee troubles and is expected to undergo surgery in approximately six weeks. The Italian star has complained of discomfort but wants to continue playing through the pain until the club face Inter in early December.

Felipe Melo will be looking to put on a good display as the midfielder faces his former employers for the first time in this match following his summer transfer.

Fiorentina

Fiorentina will enter Saturday’s match with a run of decent results behind them.

After an excellent performance against Liverpool in the Champions League that saw the Italians run out 2-0 winners, Cesare Prandelli’s side welcomed Lazio to Florence. Despite dominating proceedings for the majority of the match, the Viola were unable to find the breakthrough.

Fiorentina have only won one match away from home this season and traditionally struggle on their journeys.  However, with the fine hat-trick Alberto Gilardino scored on Wednesday to overcome a 0-2 deficit against Cyprus, perhaps there is reason to believe there is more to come from number eleven.

Nineteen-year-old Stevan Jovetic has been a hot name on the tips of everyone’s tongues in recent weeks. The Montenegrin has scored three goals in seven matches and has attracted attention from major clubs in the process.

Prediction

Juventus won one of the two matches against Fiorentina last season, with the meeting at the Stadio Olimpico ending 1-0 in Juve’s favour, whilst the reverse fixture ended 1-1.

While Fiorentina are a strong club, expect Juventus to bounce back with a solid performance after a few weeks off.

Prediction: Juventus 2 – Fiorentina 1
