Aston Villa are set to complete the club-record signing of Emiliano Buendia later today.
According to The Athletic, the Premier League side have agreed a £38 million deal with Norwich City for the Argentine international.
The report further states that the medical has already been completed, and personal terms have been agreed with the player.
Norwich have managed to include a 10% sell-on clause in the player’s contract.
The midfielder was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, but Villa have beaten them to the 24-year-old’s signing.
He was in exceptional form for Norwich this past season, scoring 15 goals and 17 assists to his name in all competitions.
Dean Smith needed to add more quality in the final third, and Buendia will help share the workload with Jack Grealish.
The England international has been the main source of creativity for the Midlands club over the past few seasons.
Buendia will add technical ability and flair to the side along with goals and assists.
He will be eager to form a quality attacking partnership with Grealish and Ollie Watkins next season.
Some Villa fans took to Twitter to share their reaction to Buendia’s signing – here is what they had to say.
I’m actually in love with these owners they get things done so much quicker. like think how long it took us to sign Watkins last year and then as soon as they came in it was done! Love it UTV

If we beat Arsenal to this signing that would be huge for us but we need 100% confirmation before getting too excited. Either way this shows our intent so we've get every reason to be full of enthusiasm for the next season!!! UTV
